Religious teacher and TV celebrity Junaid Jamshed was again in the news but this time for merry and personal reasons. His son recently got married! Taimoor Junaid Jamshed got married in a simple way at the Dynasty Hall in Karachi. Other celebrities such as Frieha Parvez and Deepak Perwani attended the small reception function. We have gathered a few pictures for those who are interested in knowing what the event was like.
Junaid Jamshed was introduced in the music world in 1980s with a musical group Vital Signs. He was the lead v ocalist and earned the place of being the first pop band of Pakistan. Vital Signs sang many popular songs such as Dil Dil Pakistan, Saanwali Saloni and Goray rung ka zamana. The group later broke off when the guitarist Salman Ahmed joined Junoon and Junaid went solo. However, a few years after the break up Junaid Jamshed experienced an awakening. He turned towards religion and regretted using his voice for singing songs. Now he only sings religious songs such as Hummd and Naat. We see Junaid on television during the month of Ramazan. He also speaks in public gatherings where religion and the Quran is discussed.
Junaid Jamshed has come a long way and his life history is not hidden from anyone. After graduating from a local boarding high school in Lahore, Jamshed joined the Pakistan Air Force, initially wanting to become a F-16 fighter pilot. His weak eyesight prevented this. He then entered the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, where he performed at several college functions. After being picked up by Rohail Hyatt, Junaid Jamshed became the lead singer of Vital Signs. We might listen to his religious speeches, but he will always be known as the singer who sang our very favourite Dil Dil Pakistan!
